Beware of Ointments for Catarrh That Contain Mercury. Mercury will surely destroy the sense of smell and completely derange the whole system, when entering it through the mucus surfaces. Such articles should never be used except on prescriptions from reputable physicians, as the damage they will do are ten fold to the good you can possibly derive from them. Hall's Catarrh Cure, manufactured by F. J. Cheney & Co., Toledo, O., contains no mercury, and is taken internally, and acts directly upon the blood and mucus surfaces of the system. In buying Hall's Catarrh Cure be sure you get the genuine, it is taken internally and made in Toledo, Ohio, by F. J. Cheney & Co.

Wholesale Theft.
There has been living in the family of C. M. Travis, as a domestic, one Ella Canan, commonly known in police circles as Tete Canan, who has been industriously laying in miscellaneously for a rainy day. For quite a while Mrs. Travis has been missing various articles, from provisions to wearing apparel. Yesterday she detected the thief almost in the act, and notifying Mr. Travis of the fact, he called two officers who accompanied him to the house where an investigation of the woman's trunk disclosed a choice asortment of all kinds of household and kitchen goods, such as handkerchiefs, laces, ribbons, underwear, bricabrac, pictures and almost everything not absolutely fastened to.the building. In addition to the discoveries in her trunk the officers found a number of clothes belonging to Mrs. Travis in posession of the woman's sister, who is now in jail. The thief not only stole for herself but was extremely liberal, having presented her friends with little souvenirs. This afternoon officer Conners arrested the Canan woman and she now reclines in jail to await trial.
