From the National Gazette, Extract of a letter from a highly respectable gentleman in New York, dated July 3t: 'OF THE CHOLERA. Will von be imnlicitlv truided hv mp vnn ;iinl . j-j j 1 yoar friends? If you will dismiss vourj terrors, and adopt the following direction namely Take one ounce of camphor and dissolveit in a half a pint ol alcohol; of this solution, which in quantity will serve a multitude of occasions, the dose is only three drops on a lump ol sugar dissolved in a small wine glassful of water to extend the camphor over a large space of the stomach. Here is no nostrum, no trick ofempyricism. It is simple; but let not its simplicity offend for it is effectual. Take no oth r meli-cine; and if life is to be savfd bv this treatment, tourh nothing in the shape of v'wn it is the antipodes of camphor and would destiov its efficacy . k,Do not tagger at mv recipe; it is asp 'cific. Where no excess has been committed, nor imprudence of diet, t or the vsiem been greath debilitated hy previous sirknessor old age, throe drops as directed on the occurrence of any of the premonitory svmfoms of Cholera, such as nauea. vomiting, cramps, or the most usual diarrhoea, taken immediately, will reclieve the system. If thestmtoms are obstinate repeat the dose in about an hour. In rase ofa sick stomach, if the first dose is rejected, give a second one, precisely the same, at intervaUof live minutes hv the tablespoonful. The Cholera is a" disease of stages it never comes without notice ; the first or promontory stage is easelv and safely cured by three drops. Taken in time,) on will net have the second or dangerous stage; even in collapse it i? the only sure remedy. Let no one having bowel complaint think it will go over harmlessly. It m iv ; but there is danger, perhaps death in the contingency. The three drops of nmphor will compel it to go off without injury, ninety times in a hundred, lean testify personally to the truth of these statements.' The Albany Board of Health report'd on Tuesday, 29 new cases of cholera, and G deaths. Total cases in the last fortnight 387, deaths 136. Hoard of Health, Buffalo, July 23.
