Monroe Co. Sleuths on the Trail. Wm. Waggoner, residing near Mt. Gilead church, east of Bloomington, was arrested Wednesday by Deputy Sheriff Butcher and Ren. C. Smith on a warrant charging him with murder. The crime for which Waggoner was

arrested is alleged to have occurred in Greene count'. In the fall of 1891 Waggoner, with his wife, resided at Newark. He is a blacksmith, and he often was separated from his wife, it is said. One day Mrs. Waggoner disap

peared, and neighbors instituted a search. Her body was found in a cistern near her home. Some said she committed suicide, others believed she had been, deliberately chloroformed and thrown in the
