The resolution extending the

corporation boundary of the city was read before the city council.

It provides for the annexation of

the following additions: Grand View, University Park, Kenwood,

and part of Walnut Grove, and Alexander's sub-division of Collego Place, and was adopted by a unanimous vote. An ordinance was passed authorizing the issue

and sale of ?17,000 worth of

funding bonds to refund the 6 per cent, bonds now outstanding. The bonds are to bear 4 per cent, of 8500 each; one bond to fall dne everv six months nntil Dec.

1902, and after that two of the

bonds are to be payable every 6 months, Tho clerk was instruct

ed to advertise for sealed bids.

consumed by burning. The method employed will be the Sraeade system, in use at the Fairviow school building. Anderson Johnson, an old colored citizen of Bloomington, is dead. Mr. Johnson was born in Shelby county, Ky., 73 years ago, and was raised a slave, his master being a man named Howell. He came to Indiana in 18ti'2 and located in Bloomington where three sons wero living who had preceded him to this State.
