It is said that it is not necessary to go into the mountains of Georgia and Tennessee, to find moonshine whisky that there are illicit stills in the southern portion of Monroe county.

Afterwards they catno to Bloomington via Louisville. The cousins of her parents, Alexander and John Oweus, resi led here then. Mrs. Kelly was a causin of Mrs. Judge James Hughes, who then resided on Prospect Hill, in one of

the most aristocratic residences in the town at that time.

children were born, two daughters and one sou. One child is at preeent L'ving and is an unmarried daughter, Miss Mary Moore Kelly. In her yaung womanhood days Mrs. Kelly united with Walnut St. Presbyterian church, and to the day of her death was a faithful and conscientious member i a true eb.ru tian lady, with malice for none and charity for

all. That was her life s mott, and she follows' it faithfully. She was a sister of Surgeon General John Moore, of the U. S. army, and also of Richard Moore, of Indianoli, Iowa.
