On last Tuesday morning occurred the marriage of Miss Myrtle May Phillips to Arctas W. Nolan, Kev. T. J. Clark officiating, at the residence of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Phillips, 709 Atwater avenue, in the presence of invited friends and relatives. After ths ceremony the couple were driven to the Monon station and took the 11 o'clock train for Paris, Ills., to make their future home. The groom is a resident of Paris, and met his bride while attending the University here, and is a member of junior class, '97. He is pastor of the Christian, church at State Line, Ills. He is also teaching in the Edgar county high school.

W. F. Tourner, brother of Mrs. Tilden of this city, dropped dead at Lafayette Saturday morning a week. He, with his wife and sister, were en route from Buffalo to Bloomingtou on a visit to Prot. and Mrs. Tilden. Mr. Tourner had just registered at the Lahr house, ashed for a pitcher of water, reached to take a match from a box on the counter, when he staggered and foil to the floor dead. His wife and sister were called from their rooms .to which they had just gone. Prof. Tilden of this city was telegraphed immediately and left for Lafayette on the first train. The remains of Mr. Tourner were taken to his home in Buffalo for burial. Mr. Tournpr was 47 years old, manager of the Pittsburg iron works, and had always been in good health.

The police are showing good judgment in arresting both undo and female prostitutes. As a rule the female prostitutes are held up to contempt and punished, while the men, whe arc far more vile, are permitted to go free. If there were no vile men there would be no female prostitutes the females do not compel the men to be vile, do they ? Think. On Wednesday afternoon last Miss Bertha, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Hanna, west 6th st., was married to John C. Bright, Rev. Allison -officiating. The young couple took the 4 o'clock train fo "Shclbyvillc, Ky., where they will spend a week or tea days the guests of Mr. Bright' s relations.
