One fare from Bloomington is $1.85. Tickets good April 24th, 2.5th, 26th and 27th. Wm. Bass (colored) brought suit against Wells & Hall, proprietors of the Acorn Cafe, for damages, claiming that on the 13th of February he went into their establishment and called for oysters and that they refused to serve him because of his color. Wells & Hall said that they refused to serve him because he was intoxicated and disorderly. The case wa tried on Thursday forenoon, and the jury wrestled with it twenty -four hours, coming in on Friday at 3 o'clock with a verdict for defendants. The address of Hon. W. D. Owen, last Saturday was a grand effort, and the court room was crowded almost to suffocation by those who were anxious to listen to the talented gentleman. Mr. Owen's services in congress while representing the 10th district, have made him familiar with the topics that most interest the people to. day. He was also commissioner of emigration, it will be remembered, and while acting in that capacity became familiar with the various phases of the foreign labor question- that are now interesting the people of these United States. There is no more popular or talented man in Indiana to day than Mr. Owen, aud his old time friends here were proud to be able to grasp his hand again

HE SKI.LS HALF A MILLION AND HAS AS MART MOKE. Indianapolis Journal. 1 At the beginning of Lent Bishop Knickerbackcr made a call to the parishes of the State, to have the members save all the cancelled postage stamps through Lent and send them to him at Easter time. The Bishop made a collection of stamps sonic time ago and had alxmt 300,000. These he sold to Scott, of New York, and for them he received $95.74. The call was for .500,000, and the Bishop feels certain that he has that many if not more. He has kept a list of all the doners and the numbers but has not added the amounts, ire is very much interested and when he commenced the collection for the first half million, his friends and members of his family laughed at him for trying it, but his success has spurred him to renewed effort, and the friends laugh no more.
