Turner, the furniture dealer, was a very prominent and active business man here twenty-five years ago, He owned what is now known as the McCalln factory, 'and a large farm southeast of it, and was known for his energy and enterprise. He is now iq his 75th year, and of course feels but little like crowding business as in former days, though stilt in good health and active for one of his age. He is at present carrying on the harness business at Ridge Farm. Rufus Coatney, a well known citizen, father of Mrs. A. M. Cunning, died with pneumonia on Sunday in his fifjtli year, after an illness of about three weeks, Mr, Ceatr ney was a good citixen, end was held iu high esteem by all who knew him. The funeral occurred to-day ( Tuesday) from the residence of Mrs. Cunning. Edward Corr, it is believed by many of his Democratic friends, will be an easy winner in the race for postmaster of Bloom iugton. Congressman Corfper and Mr, Corr are special friends, and in Corr Mr. Cooper has always found a warm and ardent supporter. They are members of the tame fraternity in college,members of the same church, and in addition to all this Corr has promised to get married if he i appointed.
