The case of Miss Maggie Dennsgner, of Sbelhyvule, who hss been living on dog flesh two weeks or more, is exciting great interest. For several years she has been an invalid, and for weeks before she began eating dog flesh was confined to her bed with consumption. Her physician had informed her that there was no remedy. Having heard that George Goodrich, of ihe same county, was cured of consump tion tony years ago by using dog grease she determined to try tbe remedy. She takes (he oil, drinks broth, and eats tbe meat, and has finished one dog. She is now up, doing her work, and superinl ended the killing of another dog. Since it has become known that he is improving six citizens have commenced using dog meat. Dogs may be of so me use yet. The Rochester. Republican tells a good one on a Fulton county farmer. He went to town and purchased a new suit of clothes, placed the bundle on th seat beside bim and started home. When he readied a bridge over' the crock, the idea h truck bim that it would be a great surprise to discard his old patched clothes and go home iu his new suit. He pulled off and fired them in'o tbe creek, piece at a. time. When he had nothing oil but a shirt he reached for the package, but it was no longer iu the wagon. The night was chilly and he went home at a two-forty gait. Speaking of the death oi Jas. D. Walker, the Shelby ville Republican says : "The deceased was born in the city oi Bloomington, Indiana, and at the time of his death was 42 years of age. He came to Sholbyville some eighteen yeurs ago to clerk for Iegg & Carter, who had a grocery store in the Odd Fellows building. Afterwards lie was engaged in the dry goods business with his brother-in-law, John C. Edwards. "When Mr. Edwards resigned tbe office of city treasurer to accept a government position, Mr. Walker was appointed to fill out the unexpired term, whkh he did in an honorable, faithful manner. For a time he was in the grocery business. In 1886 he took b position in tbe rooms of tbe Republican State Committee and after the election oi Hon. Ii. T. Michener to the office of Attorney General Mr. Walker became l,be book-keeper in that office, filling uhe position with honor and credit throughout Mr. Michener's term. Mr. Micheher always spoke of Mr. Walker's efficiency in the highest terms and when Green Smith took the office he was retained in the name capacity. He was a valuable man in the Attorney-General's ofli and:, was at all times courteous aiad obliging. Some months ago be was taken down with the grippe which brought on dropsy, causing bis death. Deceased was a member of Shelby Lodge No. 39, I. O. O. F., of this city and the Red Me a of Bloomington. He was also a member of the M. E. church.
