' Gosport Enterprise: Rev, Dobbs of Bloomington, who baa been conducting a series of protract' cd meetings at the Baptist canyon. is one of the strongest and ablest pulpit orators that baa preached toour people for some time. His sermon laat Sunday afternoon waa . preached especially for the little children,, and was highly appree iated by the children and older people as well. He is well liked by one and all in the community. The Law and Order League (before the late election) had largo ly attended meetings, and the fervid oratory made the coal oil lamps dance in their sockets. Since then three meetings have been called and at neither was there a quorum, A week .or so ago a petition with seventeen names attached was presented to the Chairman, Mr. Foster, asking him to osll a meeting. On Friday night this meeting waa to be held at the court house, and but three of the League were in attendance: R. C. Foster, Wm, Stuart and Mr. Forsythe. It will be alive and kicking before the general election in 1893 however. For some time Chicago parties have been negotiating for the Labertew farm of one hundred aerco. located at the north end of College Avenue. The trade was closed last week, and the syndicate will lay out a new addition to Bloomington, known as "Kenwood Place." Some twenty acres are included in the first plat, which will go on the market at once. The land is very valuable and desirable, and the; successful result of the negotiations are due to the well known skill of Mr. Ed. Brodix. The L&bertew heirs get $10,000 for the tract, but it is possible that forty acres of stone quarry land on the farm will -be worth that sum. SATE MONET.
