Remember there are a number of eoldters on the Republican county ticket. Ttiere are Farr, Fuller, Duncan, Dinsmore und Peterson, all good men and competent. They ought to receive the full and unqualified support of their soldier friends. "For Sheriff, Thomas J, Farr," h the way your ticket should read to give the best results. When you vote for Tom Farr you vote for one of.tha best men that ever held that office. He was a farmer's boy, and went into tbe army, be sta'id there till the war was over, being one of the musket carriers in the 33d Indiana. When he came home he went to plowing Indiana soil again, and his friends concluded that he'd make a good Sheriff. They elected him, and now as be is entitled to a second -term they desire to elect him again. Thai's .right. According to tbe. census returns tbe population of Monroe county is 17,598 an increase of 1,719 in ten years. Btoomington's population is 4,100 an increase of 1,344 in ten years. Putnam coiinhas fallen off 174. Owen county has fallen off 863. Morgan couuty has fallen off 286. Hcndricke has f si len off 1 ,493. Not many healthier counties than Monroe, or better towns than Blooroington. At present there are sixteen electric street lamps, (paid for by by tbe city) and twenty eight lights in business houses 44 lights in all, and it is about as much as Jenny can pull. Jas. W. Jackson, Republican candidate for tbe office of Recorder expects to come to Bioomington onSat urday next, and if he continues to improve he will be able to do so. The meetings of Senator Boyd at Elfctfsville, Stanford and Smithvilla were well attended. The Senator, is a flnrnt and pleasant speaker, and Republicans were highly pleased with him. The wind blew the balloon into some trees as it arose, dragging her through the top of one and swinging her violently against the dead branches of another. She suffered a fracture of the left thigh, hut clung tu the limbs till assistance reached her, when she was lowered with much difficulty. She fainted upon reaching the ground.
