Ewsn, recently Master of Transportation, has been' appointed Superintendent of the Southern Division of tbe Monon in the place of J. C. Loom is. He is a thoroughly competent railroad man, and will bring about a different state of things on this, tbe most important division of tbe road. He was for years stationed at Indianapolis as Superintendent of the Bee Line, and is one of the most popular and successful railroad men in the State. The Cuoton, O., bridge company has receptly placed two bridges Iu position in Monroe county and tbe commissioners have thoroughly examined and accepted them, One of these bridges is aorosa GrifiVs oreek, on the north pike, the abutments having - been -built for eeveral years, and wailing on the orders of tbe commissioners it ia a 97 foot span.
