W. Wicks, is one of the most suecssful business, men of our town, and does not recognise such a word -as fail, Nat. U, Hill, the pushing and energetic. President ot the First National Bank is an enthusiastic horsemao, and will give the enterprise as much of bis time as is needed. Jas. D. Showers, the head of the prosperous manufacturing firm of Showers Bros., is another one of projectors of the big fair for 1890, who has the energy and foresight to assist in organizing a success. It will be seen that there is enough financial backing to pay premiums dollar for dollar, and that ia the intention to offer a good premium list, and then pay it when awarded. These men say that Monroe thall have at least one good and successful Fair. Miss McAIister of Terre Haute is the guest of Mrs. Ben. F. Adams jr.
