Tbe log cabin was mounted on wheels aud hauled through the streets at ' tbe bead of a torchlight procession ; fireworks biased in every direction, people cheered, bowled, and blew horns, bonfires blazed on the south aide, and hundreds of bats were burned. Speeches were made iu the court house by Mulky, Batman, Morgan, .'Dunlup and others, and it was a wild might. Hooray for everybody. Dr. Rose, the eminent oculist and optician, will leave Bloomington on Tbonday. the 22d Inat. We learn that he has given good satisfaction in this place, and should be return at any time in the future be may feel assured of a hearty noosier welcome. Bedford Mail: Mrs. Elvira Voss left her home near 8pringville. Oct. 20th, to visit her daugh ter, Mrs. Hester Carson, who lives near spencer, Uwen county. - one was enjoying as good health as us ual at the time she left. On the morning of October 31st Mrs. Carson stepped out of the room to attend to some household duties, leaving her mother sitting near a window sewing. Returning a few minutes later she found her mother dead in her chair, her sewine in her lap,' her thimble on her finger. Mrs. Carson accompanied the remains to Spring ville, where they were interred in the M. E. cemetery.Nov. 2d. Deceased's husband, Esq. L. D. Vosn, preceded her to their heavenly home three months and one day. They were both members of tlie Methodist church from their youth, ere highly respected and influential citizens of Lawrence county since 181. Mrs. Voss was born in North Carolina, March 21, 1820, and removed to Owen county, Iud., with her par ents in 183, where she lived until her marriage in 1841, which union was blcsied with twelve children, seven of whom are still living to mourn the loss of a fatherud mother but three months later. Since the deat h of Mr. Voss Mrs. Voss has been living with her son, Em ery Voss on the old home place near Spring ville. She died of heart disease.

Walker, who bad been confined to his borne on the corner of 7th and Lincoln sts., for the past four years, died on Wednesday morning last with a complication of diseases, in bis 44th year. He was a son ot John F. and Sarah Walker, and wa born in Lawrence co, Ind., on tbe 13th of September, 1S44. In 1848 hi Sarente removed to Bloomington where leorga attended the pqblio schools, and In 18f8 be went into the office of tbe Bloomington Republican to learn tbe trade under hi father and G. Whitaker, by whom the office was thon owned. In 1881 be whs appointed Deputy under Postmaster Win. M. Tate, and remained in tha office under Mr. McPhneters, who succeeded ' Mr, Tate, till failing health compelled him to relinquish tbe position. Ue waa the moat popular' man who. ever stood at tbe general delivery window, being patient, kind and prompt, and was liked by everybody. He united with the M.
