Hope there's millions in it. Nat. Houston brought a couple of horses over from Worthington, Saturday evening. Nat. tails the Progress that he is making preparations to go to Wichita, Kansas. Mrs. Terry of North Walnut street accompanied her son Clarence, on bis return to Nsbrsaks, last week, intending to remain during tbe winter. On Thursday night the ball of the season will be given in Mendelssohn Hall, under the auspices ot the University Dancing Club. It will be enjoyable, in every wsy, and the' music will be the best tbat can be secured The Italian Band of Indianapolis. Carmichael & Fields have sold their Wichita lota, for which they contracted to pay 96,000, at an advance of $1,5Q0. Jos Cron sold his $2,500 investment for $3,600. W. C. Tbe Italian Band of Indianapolis has been procured. Mr. Fred. Meyer, of Indianapolis, a leading toosorial artist of that city,is spending a tew days with his brother in this place, Mr. Joseph Meyer. , Bedford Democrat: The Bennet will case tried in Orange county last week, was decided in favor of the plaintiff. This is something of a victory for Bob Miers, the leading attorney in the case, as it ia very difficult to set aside a will. Ed. Brodix of ths Bee Hive dry goods store left Bloomington for the south, on Friday last. He intends to locate in Birmingham,
Sheffield, Anistan,'Or some one- of
the new booming mineral towns, and will engage in the real estate business. W. W. Wicks left Bloomington on Monday for Birmingham, Alabama, to assist Brodix in deciding upon a location. Ed. is a good business man, and will make a success of bis new calling if he stops in the right town, R. N. Denton was in town Saturday, and exhibited a specimen of variegated marble found on his farm. The surface is as glassy and hard as the best that comes from the Tennessee quarries, and the Progress believes Mr. Denton has a desirable quarry if brought to the notice of the right parties. It is worth the price charged for the ball to hrar the rausie of the Italian Band. They will play for the Studenta' Social Ball to-morrow (Thursday) night. You'd better go. It is said that the Cincinnati & St. Louis railroad will be built
by tbe way of Smithville, six miles
south of Bloomington. There is
nothing selfish or mean about
Bloomington people, and they are
glad to bear of Sniithville's good
fortune. Bloomington has turn
pikes, the electric light, six large manufacturing establishments, two
roller process mills, the State University,3,000 inhabitants, the healthiest location on the globe, and really does not need the Cin

-Mr. 8amuel Dodds, who bas

There have been a humbe of additions to the Christian church since the protracted meeting begun. Thos. Martin, formerly of near StinesvilUj has removed to Martinsville. Cspt. Sam. The fellows who were so bit

town, several years ago, now take particular pains to "pull up" on them, when an opportunity offers. Wils. Adams, Trustee of Bloomington tp., has rented the room on tbe east side of the square between the livery stable and the bakery, and will make tbat bis headquarters hereafter. Writing from Shoals, Martin

Southern Indiana, says: "I have

Remember that the famous
Italian Orchestra of Indianapolis will furnhh music for the Students'

Mr. Theodore Wylie and wife

It is a noteworthy fact that Woman Suffrage is a growing issue
in this country. Recently in the U.

Misses Ella and Grace Rawlcs of North College Avenne, entertained a number of young friends at a Taffy Pulling, Monday night. An expensive wreck occurred in the yards of the Louisvill, New Albany & Chicago railway at Lafayette January 24th. A heavy freight train dashed in upon a side track upon which was' standing a locomotive and train, the latter'n engine being off the track. The engines came together with a frightful crash. The cab of one engine was iiterly destroyed ; also tbe tender of the other locomotive. Two can were thrown from the track into the canal, and fifteen or twenty others more or less damaged. The engineers and firemen escaped by jumping. Headquarters for choice butter and all varieties of most desirable produce is the grocery store ot Hemp. Wilson, "Progress Block."
