The wife of Prof. Frank Axtell has joined him at Washington, Daviess county. Mrs. A.was accompanied by her sister-in-law, Miss Belle Axtell. John Cory Hunter is the father of a li lb. boy which came to bis house on Thursday morning last. Hunter thinks of raising his boy in the glorious climate of California, Hiram Lindley was confined to his room with neuralgia, last Tuesday, and so was unable to go on the excursion to Mexico. Moses F. Dunn was expected to join the ! excursion at Topeka, Kas., and doubtless did so. Hillory Headley, a well-known and popular young Republican of Bloomington Township, this week announces bis desire to be nominated to the office of Trustee. Headley is an intelligent farmer, residing northeast of town, and if nominated will be elected. There are four cases of scarlet fever in town. Two of Dr. Weir's children are suffering with mild attacks ot the disease. Bloomington has been fortunate in that no deaiths have occurred from scarlet fever this winter.
