A singular accident happened recently to a cow belonging to John Armstrong of Salt Creek tp. She found access to a kettle of warm lard, and, it is estimated, drank some three gallons, after which her life slipped gr-easily away. Mr. Geo. P. Ketcham has recently returned from a visit to Kansas, and is very favorably impressed with the country and its outlook. ed in this locality, only small lots
of three to five head can be found
in the county. Hogs haven't paid
feeders very well, and in most cases the shippers have lost money. Thc
