It is hereditary. An aesthetic "organization ought to be organized in Bloomiftgton before the hot weather begins. If the organization of the sootety is delayed till the spring fever sots ift, it will be "too utterly utt." Revivals of religion are being conducted by both the Afethodist and ChrisUin churches. A number
of accessions have resulted to thei
membership of each church. Very few towns of 3,000 inhabitants have as much musical talent among their citizens as Bloamiogton, if we may judge from the fept that none of the small cities, outside of ours, can boost of a home musical society. ' Wiij t goodness gracious !"

Perdue and Soddy Carmichacl, begun business in the old New York store room only a year ago, and tbe business has increased so rapidly under (heir management that they were compelled to. seek more commodious quartei-s. A contract was mads for the building and finishing of the room they aw occupy and a lease of five years was secured at a rent of $550 per ttonum. "The room is a apacioui one with shelving and counters on either side &x tending from (he front to the rear. The flrst floor is devoted chiefly to dry goods and notions, but the boot and shoe department is also located there. A spacious room in the second story, which is reached by a stairway from tie main store room, is the carpet and clothing- salesroom. The entire front of tho main room on the first floor is of plate glass, fhiah furnishes plenty of light in the day time, while eight chandeHtrs iiluniinato the room at night. There ara no h.a'r windows, ,bv.t in their stead are oozy nooks neatly qarpeted and furnished with handsome mirrors and tett tote. Here tbe ladies csn-rcjt, while they hav a tew pf everything on, tne streets.. A large, btndsome nickel plated base-burner is in tho rear of the room, and will furnish all the beat necessary. There was at least one good thing accomplished in moving the Hew York Store. A" ln oi was weeded out and left at the old ttand to be sold at auction. Nothing has beon put on the shelves of the new store but fresh and desirable goods." Mr. Field, the com petent head and buyer of tho firm will leave Bloomington for the Knstarn cities in a few days, and will bring such a stock of goods ai will open tbe eyes of the old fogy dealers of the county. The salesmen of the New York Store are selected with special reference to experience and popularity, and people who buy goods there once, feel perfectly at home afterwards . o. tight into tbe store and look around yotl will be pqlitely trsated and doubtless will An. some article you hare boon needing. John Jones lost a valuable team of horses on Friday last in consequence of the inexperience of tbe man who drove them. It appears that the driver bad been here bnt a short time and was wholly unacquainted with the channel in the road on west sixth street, alongside the old Tsrkington place, and in endeavoring to drive into town on Friday evening got into a deep hole that is ayoided by those who are familiar with the locality, The team and spring wagon disappeared from sight, but the driver, by herculean efforts, reached the overhanging branches of a convenient tree, to which he clung till rescued

There are immense icijes of stone all around BIoomif 4,:.-')n, that only need development to make them incalculably valuable But we want another railroad before the quarries of Monroe wanty will be properly developed. - Whenever you see pimples depm'ol ,a the center, you may take titttt a sign of small pox.- Small . stules appear first on the face and then on the neck and hands and afterward en the body. At first they are the size and have the solidity uf small shot, but a layman would not be able to judge them until on and after the fourth day, when they become depressed in the center and surrouucled by a circle of pink that turns a dark orimson, Those pimples are often so thick that 'they run together. There is an odor accompanying the disease that, once noticed, can not be forgotten. Frank Bumbarger, who flourished in this locality some eight years ago as a lumber buyer, is under sentence of death in Dauphin co., Pa., far a murder committed

churches. The same is true of Bedford, Greencaslle and Crawfordsville. Bloomington has nine churches and one retail saloon. There are more widows and widowers ip Bloomington than in any other town of its population iff this section of the State, and it is a fact that nearly all of the recent comers are widows and widowers. Why is this thusly ? By reference to several items in to-day's paper it will be seen that accidents have happened to persons on the Labertew hill, and near the Tarkington property. Ther-! is a possibility that suit may be brought against tbe city in both cases. Whenever tbe roads begin to get solid and teams are enabled to struggle through the mud to town with 11 dollar's worth of timber, another rain sets in and business cornea (o a standstill. We do not need better roads in Monroe county. Oh, no ! The wife of Joseph V. Buskirk fell and broke her left arm for

her band, break iug both bones of
the arm-near the wrist, one of the bopee protruding through the fleab. 'The last injury was very painful, and one that will be a long time in healing. Jimmy Brown, aged siz, was "conning it" along the fepce with some other little boya, last Thurs

There pecms to bo nothing mare remarkable about OscarWilde than intense peculiarity, which his admirers call genius, nod which practical folks regard as humbug with gain in view. Mr, Wilde's singularity is partly due to nat.re,partly to affectation, and largely to a hope of profit from that weakness in New
Xork Human nature which causes
people to run after any new and en rious thing. Within the Jast three years Wilde has beon the acknowl
edged leader of tbi t class of per
sons in London society who profess
to find the secret of life in beauty, and who industriously spend their time, or fancy they spend it in the enjoyment of the beautiful where
less gifted mortals jail to find it. A few months ago he published some
verses in book form, nat destitute
of merit, but condemned, because of
their fleshiness by severe critics. In New York he has delivered several
lectures, dressed in full dress, coat, white vest, black knee breeches, black silk stockings end low cut shoes with buckles : but be did not
carry a sunflower or a lily in his aristocratic hands. It won't do for Oscar to ignore the sunflower when he lectures in Bloomington.
