Last Wednesday morning, at
7 o'clock, Samuel Slater and wife from the northeastern part of the
county, sold to Khorer 9$ lbs. of
ginseng, receiving therefor $14 25. The remarkable feature is that the conple started at 2 a.m., and walked to Bloomington by 7, a distance

pairs of stoga boots, part of a bolt
of jeans, twenty yards of calico, a quantity of groceries, including a
liberal supply of "terbacker," and
then, thus loaded down, started on
their way home afoot, as they came. In circuit court last Thursday
a jury, heard the proof in a suit
brought by Rebecca Armstrong
against the estate of Martha Goodwin. The old lady, Miss Goodwin,

lady had to be cared for as though i f . mi
