Wilstach We acknowledge, the compliment of an invitation to the Oyster Supper to be given by the Knights of Pythias, at their Hall,(to-night) Wednesday. The term "Epizootic" is not used, as many suppose, to represent a specific disease. It is generic just as epidemic is generic. For an example, epizootic means "a disease among animals," just as epidemic means "a disease among the people." The cholera may be an epidemic, so may tho small-pox. The influenza may be an epizootic, just as the glanders may be. When one speaks of the epizootic he means a "horse epidemic." The origin of the terms is as follows : Epos among ; and demos, the people ; also epos, among, and zoos the animals. Hence when we say the horse has "the epizootic," we mean that he has "the coutageous disease," without specifying the disease. This accounts for the variety of names given the present disease among the horses, some being intended as generic and others as specific terms. iV. A. Stockweil, aged 26 years.
The proprietor of this celebrated medicine justly claims fur it a superiority over nil remedies ever ottered to the public for the safe, certain, speedy, and permanent cure of Ague and Fever, or Chills and Fiver, whether of short or long standing. He refers to the en'iro western and southern country to hear liim testimony to the truth of the a-;ertinri, that in no cne whatever will it fail to cure if the direction am strictly followed and carried out. In n great ninny cases a single dose has been sufficiont for a" euro, and whole families have been cured by a single bottle, with a perfect restoration of the general hoalth. It in however, prudent, an J in every ease mora certain to euro, if its wo is continued in small' or doses for a week or two after the disease has been checked, more especially in diffi
cult and long standing eases. Usually this medicine will not require any aid to keep the bowels in gool order, Sl"uld the patient, however, require a -cathartic medicine, after having taken three doses of the tonic, a singl dose of Bull's Vegetable Family pills will be sufficient. BULL'S SARSAPARILLA. Read tho following extract of a leltor from Mrs. River?, wife of Reverned Dr. Rivers, one of the most learned, eloquent and popular Ministers of the Methodist Episcopal Church, and who is at present stationed at Broadway Church, Louisville, Ky. Locisvilt-e, Ky., Oct. 3, 1809. Dr. John Hull Dear Sir: My thanks to you for the mei'iicine you have so kindly giv".n me. I havt. been a great sufferer for years, and had the advice of various physicians. Some pronounced my spine, some my lungs, and some rny heart, to be the scat of my disease. I have been burnt, blistered and cupped, until I bad become disheartened. Several very eminent physicians who examined my spine informed me that I was threatened with paralysi or apoplexy any day, and that nothing but a seaton would relieve rue. I had a perfect horror of that, and was hesitating about having one inserted, when you kindly sent mo your Sarsaparilla, which I immediately began to take three times a day. I had suffered terribly with a most acute riin in tho right side of my head, especially when I would read or write for any length of time, and on rising to my feet I would be perfectly blind for several minutes, and would hiive to hold to something to provent falling. I am happy to inform you that the pain in my head is entirely relieved ; I suffer but seldom with my spine and then not so acutely. My appotite is good for the first time in my life. I enjoy my dinner more than any other niec.l during the day. You kindly sent me four bottiua again lost night.nnd I bo;;an aain ths morning, end I hope to bo entirely relieved. Please accept my heartfelt thanks and best wishes. Very trulv your most grateful friend, M.' B. C. RIVERS. My journal abounds with similar letters, all of which I guarantee to be genuine and written by the' persons whoso name they bear. Do not suffer yourself to be imposed on. Don't be drawn awy after new aud doubtful experiments. Don't risk your health by letting novices experiment upon you with their trash. My Sarsaparilla has stood the test for twenty-five yenrs; it is still the Sarsaparilla of the day, and of the age, towering over all others in popularity and its curative qualities. Avoid all those who are trying to palm off on you other extracts of Sarsaparilla socalled." Remember it is Dr. Joho Bull's Sarsaparilla, of Louisville, Ky., thsit is the old and reliable remedy for impurities of the blood and scrofulous affections. Alway bear that in mind.

I was wounded uboui two years ngo.wa taken prisoner and confined for sixteen months. Being moved so often my wounds have not healed yet. I have not sal up a moment since I wis wounded. I hove for ten years recommended it to many in Now York, Onio and Iowa, for scrofula, fever sores, and general debility. Perfect success has attended it.
