which was followed immediately by
an array of horsemen. A handsomely decorated wagon, in which
were seated 37 young ladies, the wagon gotten up by the workmen of Seward's Foundry, came next. The Blooniington Glee Club then followed, and the Delegation of Colored People, with their Glee CI nb. A number of the trades were iepressnted, on wagons in the Procession, prominent among which were the Carpenters, with workbench, etc., the planning of Jack Nichols, Wilson Adams, and others. Garrison had a platform wagon, upon which brick-moulding was successfully carried on, and Waldron's men had an immense platform, upon which the trade that U. S. Grant learned, that of Tanning, was exhibited in its various grades; this wagon was drawn by 10 yoke of oxen. A Tin-Shop on wheels was the next curiosity, and a companion to John Ktrr's Blacksmith Shop, in which they were strijeing while the irou was hot and the wagon moving. Perry Township had a beautifully decorated car, (double-decked) upon which was seated young ladies representing he various States, the car drawn by 18 ho;:scs. Then came Turner's Sash Factory, on wheels, a Glee Club, and a long line of wagons and carriages. One of the Delegations had a wagon filled with "Republican Twigs," boys of six and ten years. Van Burcu turned out in earnest, with Glee Club, wagon.-, carriages, etc. Richland came in line with the Ellettsville Cornet Band, the
"Ship of State," appropriately decorated, filled with young ladies; following the display wagons was a
large procession of wagons aud carriages.
