establishment of John P. Smith, on
tho south side of the public square.
The first attempt was made at the rear door, but tho burglar was overheard, and hastily climbed tho fence and reached the alley. Several hours afterwards a key was thrust into the front door, but the key belonging to the lock had been left in
it on the inside, thereby defeating any attempt at unlocking it. Another version is that Pressel caught up a diamond, about the size of a tin cup, to hurl at the burglars, and the glare of light from the gem so lit up the room, that the burglars concluding that the entire block was aroused, precipitately retreated Chills are more prevalent in Bloomington just -now, than they, have been during the past ten years.
