rencu conntv, on the '20th of July, 18-18. His childhood and early youth wor.i spent in his native town. At eighteen he went to Bedfcrd, and lived with his brother for a year, at the close of which he came to Bloomington, and engaged with his brother, Parker Pearson, in the mercantile business. He wras taken ill of Typhoid Fever on the 10th of September, but was not thought to be dangerously ill until about five days before he died. Then he grew rapidly worse, and at 121 P. M- of Saturday last, he passed away to the better land. He was a young man of unblemished moral character, a model of virtue
and propriety in all the relations of
life. At the age of IS he joined the M. E. Church and ever after lived an exemplary christian. He
manifested an unusual degree of
filial affection for his aged and widowed mother. He devoted his time and care to her comfort, and
that of his sister, who was living with her mother. His only regret in dying was that his mother and sister would be left comparatively lonely and helpless. For himself he had no fears, ho was going liome ; Jesus was with him and sustained
