On last Saturday morning, a lad of fourteen years, employed in HolUniail's Woolen Fuctory, was caught by tho "Picker,'' a large cylinder, armed with long, sharp spikes and before assistance came, his right arm was torn into shreds, and his face had received a number of gashes. -Tho health of Captain L. S. Mayfiisld is greatly improved, so much indeed, that he is now prominently spoken of for County Clerk. We learn that if urged by his numerous friends, he might yet be induced to make the race for the nomination, p Common Pleas Court lasted only one week, although there was enongh on the docket to consume double the time. Judge Woolen could not be present, but -sent Judge Banta. made a seizure oi the stock of
spirits belonging to Wm. F. O'Bold,
a Wholesale and Retail Liquor,
Dealer, in this place, for violations of the Internal Revenue "aw. O'Bold is charged with drawing from the original cask and placing in other casks or packages, each six gallons of spirits, and selling and shipping the packages containing six gallons, without having them gauged and stamped as the law required him to do. These packages were aeized by a Revenue officer at Quincy, as being there iu violation of law. The estimated value of the stock seized, is 1,800. The liquors have been removed from O'Bold'? rooms, aud are now in custody of the oflicer who made the seizure.
