Tht Indianapolis Mirror, an Independent paper, of the strongest Democratic proclivities, says "the Democratic Germans are highly incensed at nhc action of the iate convention in neglecting to nut a German on the ticket. Ihey were unanimously in favor of John B. Stoll for Auditor, and he was unexceptionable as to qualifications, and has done the party great service by his speeches in German and English, it was confidently expected that he would be the nominee. The slight is all the keener from tho fact that the convention recognized the Irish in the. nomination of Kyan, twice beaten in succession." A man died at Jersey City, N. J., not long since, who had in his room some six hundred thousand dollars in money and securities. He appeared to have no friends, never visited or received visitors, arid no one about t he hotel where he boarded knew hi.s. name, except the-clerk and landlord. He dressed, lik a beggar and had none of the comforts n: life. It was found after his death that he had large sums in bank, the interest on which had not been drawn for years. ' The question is of what use is all this life of toil and-beggary, to iiorde up riches which are of no use. Relatives whom he hardly knew will receive his wealth, and wiil not thank him for the toil and privations that heaped up such unused riches. The nomination of Hon. A. C.
