woman to master nil tbe rajuire-

ments oi tlie prohtssioa, is not to be questioned. Hcr adaptation for

it, however, must be practically de

monstrated. If it is found that her sex is a barrier in the path to successful practice, her knowledge will

prove no less valuable in the hospi

tal than at the beds? tic. As advan

ced stiience teaches tss to discard the

uae of noxious drugs, and to rely more upon the curative powers of

nnture and the kindly oliiccs of the

n-irse, it may be that tiie gentle h and and moral influence of woman peculiarly adapt her to the practice of medicine. Whether she pro res .successful or not, credit is cortainly due those colleges which have given hcr the means of putting th-,2 question to a practical test.
