AGRICULTURAL MEETING. At a meeting pursuant to adjournment of the members of the Agricultural Society of Monroe county, Indiana, held at the Court House, in Bloomington, on the 6th of March, 1837, the Hon. Michael Buskirk, President, took his seat and after having called the house to order, the following preambles and resolutions were unanimously adopted. 1. Resolved, That J. VV. Spsncer, be appointed Secretary protem which resolution was decided in tbe affirmative. 3. On motion of Thomas Carter, that a premium be awarded for the best three acres of corn. Adopted nem. con 3. Oa motion of P. V. Hall, that a premium be awarded for the best four acres of oats that may be exhibited Carried nem- con. 4. Motion made by John Alextnder, that the best five acres of wheat be entitled to a ptemium. Carried nem. con. 5. On motion of David Koers, that the best ten pounds of sugar di.nv n premium. Adopted nem. con. C. Resolved, Tint the premiums to be awarded on the above specified articles of exhibition be determined at the neit meeting of the society. Tiie undersigned bad sale of lots in said town last full, at which time ha sold all the lots then laid otl'at foil' price end many persons have, since that tiiiic, made application to the proprietor to lay off an addi(i)iil number which he has accordingly Uone. This place is situated in a healthy part of Cue country immediately on the state road from Incianaiiolis to Levcntvortu, via Martinsville, Bloomington, Bedford t, c. and by an act of the Legislature ibis road is authorized to be relocated by commissioner, appointed fur that purpose. Eugene is mode by that law a point, and au appropriation is made of 875 to improve this road within tbe limits of Mouroe county and other appropriations are, and will be maUe to improve the same In those counties though which it runs. There have been some buildings put Jp in said plate since the Erst sale and there is a good stoie and grocery how doing a good business in this town; Rumours have been circulated that tbe title to said land is only held hy a title bond. 1 can say lo all those concerned or who may be concerned thai I have good deed in fee simple recorded in the recorder's office of Monroe cduutj for tbe land on Which the town is situated.
