PUBLIC NOTICE TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: Notica la hereby given that the LouJavilie District, Cor pa of Engineers, under authority of Section 14 of the 1946 Rood Control Act la planning bank protection work along County Road 500 W, In Putnam County, Indiana. The work will Involve the placement of rock and fW along 650 feet of stream bank of Big Walnut Creek. This construction will require the placement of 1,750 cubic yards (c.y.) of 205-lb. stone, 200 c.y. of clean granular fill, and 1,600 aquara yards of filter fabric below Ordinary High Water. Plana for the considered work are attached to this notice. The placement of this material constitutes the discharge of fill material into a water of the United States and is subject to Section 404 of the Clean Water Act This Public Notice has been prepared to advise all interested parlies of the proposed Federal project and to solicit comments and information necessary to evaluato the potential effect of the proposed work on water quality and its associated environmental factors. Tire U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's comments on this project are hereby requested in accordance with the Rsh and Wildlife Coordination Act on 1958. Based on available information it has been determined that no species, or the critical habitat thereof, listed or proposed to be Mated as endangered will be affected by the proposed work. In accordance with the Endangered Species Act of 1973, as amended, should such species, or the critical habitat , thereof, be determined to be present, consultation with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will be effected prior to construction. The National Register of Historic Places has been consulted and it has been determined that there are no known properties or aroas currently listed on the Register which would be
