AS THE WINNER of the Nabisco Championships, Mudd has a portion of his $450,000 check earmarked for a 200-acre farm in Kentucky. Neither of those errant, frontnine shots were shown on television. But viewers were treated to a putting clinic down the stretch as Mudd birdied the last two holes of regulation to catch Billy Mayfair, then won the biggest prize in American golf with a third consecutive birdie on the first playoff hole. “I REALLY DIDN’T think I had that kind of game,” said Mudd, who had won only three previous titles in a nine-year PGA Tour career. For Mayfair, a tour sophomore who has yet to win, it was his second playoff loss of the year. “In Milwaukee, I lost because I bogeyed the last hole,” Mayfair said. “I didn’t lose this one.”

Robert H. Farber 210 West Popular Street Greencastle, Indiana 46135 John Thomas I am glad to endorse John Thomas for re-election to the State Legislature. His outstanding leadership has been recognized many times on the national and state levels. Here at home John Thomas has demonstrated his support for young people in his Boy Scout activities and in bringing many students to the State Legislature throughout the sessions. His leadership in economic development and criminal justice is evident in his many bills which have become laws. John Thomas has also helped older Hoosiers in many areas. He has promoted Nursing Home support and he is the author of the CHOICE program which means so much in home-health care services. All Hoosiers can be proud of John Thomas and we need to keep him in the Legislature. Re-elect John Thomas to The Legislature PAID FOR BY COM MITTEE TO RE-ELECT JOHN THOMAS, ROBERT FARBER, CHAIRMAN
