SPJ Society of Professional Journalists SPJ, an organization with 17,500 members, will relocate headquarters in August in Greencastie, Indiana, home of Depauw University where SPJ was founded as Sigma Delta Chi (SDX) in 1909. Immediate openings for following staff positions are: DIRECTOR OF PROGRAMS & SERVICES- A department-head position responsible for supervision and training of SPJ's programs staff; overseeing professional development and continuing education programs for journalists; services to members; awards programs; and arrangements for national and regional conventions. Candidates also will work with more than 300 local chapters to develop locally and regionally based professional development programs. Preferred candidates will have management level experience, ability to develop and work within a budget, experience in management of large scale conventions and meetings such as job fairs and seminars.
