Calendar of events Wednesday Club 16 will meet with Joan Cash at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 11. Members are asked to bring recipe card with a recipe for exchange during social hour. Mike Willis will be the guest speaker during a series of Gospel meetings through Friday, April 13 at the Greencastle Church of Christ on State Road 240. Services are scheduled for 7:30 nightly. The public is invited to any or all of the special services. Chapter I of PEO will meet at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 11 at the home of Mrs. Ralph Taylor. RAM Chapter No. 22, R & SM No. 107 Council and KT No. 11 Commandery will jointly convene at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 11 at the Greencastle Masonic Temple. A carry-in dinner will be served at 6 p.m. All members, their ladies and families are invited. Peace Lutheran Preschool will have special Easter service for preschoolers and their families and friends at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 11. Thursday The support group for divorced, separated and remarried Catholics, sponsored by St. Paul-the-Apostle Catholic Church, will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 12 in St. Paul’s parish hall. Beech Grove ladies aid will meet all day Thursday, April 12 at the church with a pitch-in dinner slated. Weather permitting, the church yard will be raked. Men are invited to attend. Good Friday worship is scheduled for 7 p.m. April 13 at Peace Lutheran Church. Everyone is invited to attend. The choir will be singing a special cantata. The Woman’s Study Club will hold a luncheon meeting at noon Friday, April 13 at Walden Inn. Church of Christ at Haw Creek will hold a weekend meeting at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 13 and Saturday, April 14, with 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. services Sunday, April 15. Bro. Cletis Ellett of Bloomington will do the preaching. A basket lunch is scheduled Sunday at the Roachdale Lions Hall, with a 2 p.m. closing service at the church building. Saturday Groveland Lodge No. 542, F & AM will have a whole hog sausage and pancake day, beginning at 6 a.m. Saturday, April 14. Everyone is invited to attend. Millgrove United Methodist Church will hold a bake sale 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 14 at the Wal-Mart store in Greencastle. Fillmore Lodge will sponsor a pancake and sausage breakfast 7-10 a.m. Saturday, April 14 at the Fillmore Masonic Lodge. The all-you-can-eat meal costs $3. Photos with the Easter Bunny will be taken 9:30-10:30 a.m. and 1-2 p.m. Saturday, April 14 at Houston Health Care Center, Cloverdale. Cost is $2 per per photo. Everyone is welcome. The musical service will begin at 6 p.m. at First Assembly of God Church on Westlane Road, Greencastle. There is no admission charge and the public is invited. Community Sunrise Services are scheduled for 7 a.m. Sunday, April 15 at Poland Historic Chapel. Breakfast is scheduled for 7:45 with a freewill offering in Zion’s Fellowship Hall, a mile south of Poland. An open invitation is also issued for 9:30 a.m. Sunday school and 10:30 a.m. worship. Easter services will be held at 8 and 10:15 a.m. Sunday, April 15 at Peace Lutheran Church with an Easter breakfast at 9. Everyone is invited to attend. Bainbridge Christian and Methodist churches will present a 7:30 a.m. Easter service April 15 at the Bainbridge United Methodist Church. Breakfast will follow the worship service. “Creation,” a group of DePauw University students who perform Christian music, will perform at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 15 at Heritage House Convalescent Center, Greencastle. The public is invited. Easter Sunday at Sherwood Christian Church will begin with sunrise service at 7 a.m., led by several of the youth and Pastor Fred Schaeffer. Sunrise service will be followed by an all-church breakfast and Easter egg hunt for the children. The choir will present a special hymn for Easter during the 10:30 a.m. service. Monday TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) No. 573, Greencastle, meets every Monday at 7 p.m. at Mt. Putnam County Association of Educators of Young Children (PCAEYC) will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, April 16 at the Children’s Center, 605 Crown SL, Greencastle. Dr. Maribeth Schmitt, assistant professor of education at DePauw University, will present the program on “The Power of Prediction,” focusing on language arts in the preschool and primary grades. A short business meeting will follow. Tuesday The Over 50 Club will meet Tuesday, April 17 at the VFW home in Greencastle with a carry-in dinner at 6 p.m. and a business meeting at 7. Entertainment will follow. All members and friends are invited. Parents of Ridpath School fifth-graders will have a work night at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 17 at Ridapth. Parents will be making graduation caps for fifth-grade recognition. Washburn Chapter of DAR will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 17 at the home of Mrs. Eugene Akers, 712 Ravenswood Drive, Greencastle. “Racial Awareness” will be the program. Greencastle High School will hold its 29th Academic Honors Banquet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 18 in the GHS multipurpose room. Ken Bode, director of the DePauw University Center for Contemporary Media and former political correspondent for NBC-TV, will be the guest speaker.

The engagement of Karen Lynn Napoli and Gregory Joseph Seketa is announced by their parents, Betty and Frank Napoli and Dee and George Seketa, Greencastle. The bride-to-be, a 1989 DePauw University graduate, is employed as a personnel coordinator with Dunhill Temporary Systems, Indianapolis. Her fiance also earned his undergraduate degree from DePauw and is a 1989 graduate of Indiana University School of Law. Currently completing a law clerkship with the Indiana Court of Appeals, Seketa will join the law firm of Sommer and Barnard, Indianapolis. They plan a June 30 wedding at St. Paul’s Church, Greencastle.
