Wabash College campaign surpasses S4O million goal

Morris E. and Ruth B. Woods, Route 2, Ladoga, will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary Feb. 17. They were married Feb. 17, 1940 at the Reelsville home of Rev. and Mrs. Dallas Rissler. The couple observed their 50th anniversary over the Christmas holidays with family in Okkeechobee and Deerfield Beach, Fla. The former Ruth Buis, Mrs. Woods retired in 1982 after working for the Crawfordsville District Office of State Highway Construction, Ladoga Post Office and Fountain County Extension
Spring PEP class registration begins
Registration forms for spring classes in the Putnam Enrichment Program (PEP) are currently available at the Putnam County Library. PEP is offering eight classes, which are open to any students who are interested in the subject area. “Dinosaurs-Footsteps into the Past” will be offered on Feb. 26 and 27 for children who are four or five years old. The instructor for the class will be Melva Henninger and the cost is sl2. FOR INTERESTED secondand third-grade students, PEP is offering a course entitled “Fun with Computers.” The class will be held in late March and April and the fee is $25. Activities will include the use of The Print Shop to design posters and greeting cards. Charlotte Dudley will be teaching “Time, Rhyme and Mime” to children who are in kindergarten, first and second grades. The class will be meeting on February 20,27, March 6, 13 and 20 and will cost S2O. Third- and fourth-grade students may register for “Beginning Computers.” The course also offers use of The Print Shop and other software. They have three children, Patricia Faulkinbury, Advance, Mrs. Charles (Pamela) Schaefer, Evansville, and Michael M. Woods and wife Kathi, Walnut Grove, Calif. They also have seven grandchildren. A son-in-law, Joe Faulkinbury, is deceased. Residents of Ladoga the past 32 years, the Woodses are both graduates of Fillmore High School.

Fifth-, sixth- and seventh-graders may also register for “Creative Writing.” The cost of the writing class is sl7. PEP is also offering “Fun with Math,” which will be taught by Todd Montgomery. The course is open for students in grades five, six and seven and will meet on Feb. 22, March 1,8, 15 and 22. Registration for “Fun with Math” is S2O. REGISTRATION FOR the PEP classes is processed on a firstcome, first-served basis. The registration form and payment must be received prior to the first class date. Calendar of events Wednesday Greencastle Chapter No. 255, Order of Eastern Star will hold a stated meeting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7.
