Women say society too permissive, yet admit having affairs
NEW YORK (AP) Society’s attitudes about sex are too permissive, according to a majority of women surveyed by a magazine. But about one-third say they’ve had an extramarital affair or a relationship with a married man while single. AND, WHILE 53 percent of the American women surveyed said they don’t think the media should report information about a political candidate’s sexual lifestyle, only 29 percent actually would vole for a politician if they knew he or she has had or is having an extramarital affair. The contradictory feelings women have about sex were revealed in a survey by Women’s Day magazine. The typical woman who responded to the survey is married, has children, has attended

at least some college and has a job. Her median age is 40 and her total household income is likely to be greater than $30,000 a year. Sixty-eight percent of the women surveyed said society’s attitudes about sex were too permissive, while 14 percent said it was just right and 13 percent said they were too judgmental. Five percent were undecided, the survey said. THIRTY PERCENT of the women said they have had an affair with a married man while single. Twenty-eight percent said they have had an extramarital affair, according to the survey. The survey was based on the responses of 50,000 Woman’s Day readers to a questionnaire published in the March 8 issue of the magazine.

Moon-Broadstreet vows exchanged in Los Angeles June 5
Nancy Ellen Moon and Jeff Broadstreet, Santa Monica, Calif., were united in marriage Sunday, June 5 at Westwood United Methodist Church, Los Angeles. THE BRIDE IS THE daughter of Alice Jean Moon, Davenport, lowa, and the late Ralph F. Moon. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Broadstreet, Stilesville. His maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Paul Siddons, Greencastle. Maid of honor was Rebecca Moon, Davenport, lowa, and Best Man was Robert Benson, Santa Monica. The bride wore a white cotton pique dress, designed by Nancy Johnson. The maid of honor wore a
cotton, knee-length blue print dress. Their hats were by Frank Olive. The bridal bouquet contained white roses, tulips, gardenias and lillies of the valley. Broadstreet wore a suit by Georgio Armani. THE BRIDE IS A graduate of Northwestern University and the University of Southern California and is employed as a talent agent with the Artists Group, Ltd. The groom is a graduate of Eminence High School, Eminence, and Indiana University, Bloomington. He is employed as an independent filmmaker. Following a wedding trip to Hawaii, the couple now reside in Santa Monica.
