A XoLt Public Service Indiana, we believe in the power of ideas to enhance the quality of life in Indiana. Nowhere is this more important than safety. And by keeping one simple, but important, idea in mind, you can protect yourself and your family from serious injury or death. The idea— stay away from power lines. Power lines are not insulated like home appliance cords, and they carry many thousands of volts of electricity that can injure or kill on contact. Put this Electric Idea to work for you and your family. PUBLIC SERVICE INDIANA

(AP) Kokomo will be the host of the 12th Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame boys’ classic next December, the sponsoring organization has announced. The Wildkats, who were 24-3 and ranked fifth in the state this past season, will be joined by South Bend St. Joseph’s, New Washington and Lebanon, says Ron Newlin, executive director of the Hall of Fame. The games will be played Tuesday, Dec. 27, a switch from the traditional Saturday schedule earlier in the month in an attempt to boost attendance. Each of the four in the 1988 classic won a sectional tourney this season and figures to return a strong team. St. Joe was 23-2 and ranked seventh; New Washington was 22-3 and ranked 20th before losing to No. 3 Bedford-North Lawrence; Lebanon was 17-6 and unranked but returns third-team All-Stater Rich Mount. 1990 U.S. Open bowling tourney coming to Indy INDIANAPOLIS (AP) The 1990 U.S. Open bowling tournament will be held at Woodland Bowl in Indianapolis, the Bowling Proprietors Association of American has announced. The eight-day, 240-man tournament is expected to pay a SIOO,OOO first prize. Dates will not be set until the Professional Bowlers Association finalizes its schedule, but it is expected in late March or early April, 1990. “I’m amazed we got it, but I think it’s a feather in our cap,” said Jim Doty, general manager of Woodland Bowl, host of a fall PBA tournament the past seven years. “This tournament fits in with everything this city is trying to do, and maybe one of the reasons we got it is the reputation Indianapolis has for putting on big events.”
