Continued from Page A 4 finished how I thought we would, especially when we have to count some of the scores we do.” In the girls’ race, Owen Valley’s Erika Stierwalt was the individual winner, running the 2.4-mile course in 15:29 to lead the Patriots to the team title. Putnam County was represented in the top 10 by South’s Stacy Broadstreet, who finished fourth with a 16:09 time. GREENCASTLE’S AMY Loveless was 12th overall, whiie the Eagles’ Becky Hunteman was 13th. Lisa Spence of GHS was 15th, followed by the Eagles’ Erin Norris in 16th. Only four teams had enough gals to post a team score with Danville, Edgewood and South* Putnam finishing 2-3-4 behind Owen Valley. In the junior varsity race, the Eagles matched their 1-2 finish in the varsity competition as Travis Dorsett and Brian Pershing crossed the finish line in 18:06 and 18:14, respectively, to gain the top two spots and lead the jayvee Eagles to the team crown. Brent Williams was another top 10 finisher for SPHS, in seventh. Cloverdale’s Jeremiah Lavoine was fifth with a 19:22 time. DORSETT’S WIN CAPPED a, miraculous comeback for the freshman who suffered a career-, threatening injury on Sept. 1 when he, split his knee open, requiring 23 stitches. He was on crutches for three weeks after that, and only began running again two weeks ago.
