Eli Wallach (left), Timothy Patrick Murphy and Anne Jackson star in "Sam's Son,” an NBC movie depicting the relationship between young Michael Landon (then known as Gene Orowitz) and his father. It airs Wednesday, May 21.

—TV DIALOGUE—

DONNA THE PRIMA DONNA My mother thinks the young lady who played Elly May on “The Beverly Hillbillies’’ is in real life Donna Dixon. I think Donna Dixon played on “Bosom Buddies.” Who is right? S.W., Plaistow, N.J. Elly May Ciampett was portrayed by Donna Douglas. Donna Dixon played Sonny Lumet on “Bosom Buddies.” PERRY’S ADVERSARY Who played the D.A. in the original “Perry Mason” series, starring Raymond Burr? K.W., Strasburg, Pa. In the original series, which aired from 1957 to 1966, District Attorney Hamilton Burger was played by William Talman. In the second go at the series from 1973 to 1974, Monte Markham portrayed lawyer Perry Mason and Harry Guardino played Burger. LAWMAN Who starred as the lawman in the series, “The Lawman”? My husband says it was the actor who plays Victor Newman on “The Young and the Restless.” C.G., Irving, Texas. This ABC western, which aired from 1958 to 1962, featured John Russell as lawman Marshal Dan Troop. Handsome Peter Brown played Deputy Johnny McKay. Victor Newman is portrayed by Eric Braeden. HOOSIER WHO’S WHO Who appeared in the movie, “Home in Indiana”? D.G., South Bend, Ind. The cast of this 1944 saga about horse racing included Walter Brennan, Jeanne Crain, June Haver, Charlotte Greenwood, Lon McCallister, Ward Bond, Willie Best and George Cleveland. DOG DAYS What was the title of the movie about vampire dogs in which Jose Ferrer appeared? D.S., El Paso, Texas. I think you’re referring to the 1977 film, “Zoltan, Hound of Dracula.” Not too many people would think of this film when considering Ferrer’s work he’s better known for the classics “Cyrano de Bergerac” and “Joan of Arc.”

Sean Connery

BONDED Can you list all the movies in which Sean Connery has starred as James Bond and tell me if he will be doing any future Bond films? T.G., Daytona Beach, Fla. This fine actor, who is largely responsible for the popularity of filmdom’s super-spy, said a few years ago that he would never again play Bond the crown had been passed to Roger Moore. Then Connery appeared in the Bond film “Never Say Never Again” in 1983. Producers are currently looking for a new Bond. Whether Connery will ever again play 007 won’t be predicted here. His Bond films include “Dr. No,” “From Russia with Love,” “Goldfinger,” “Thunderball,” “You Only Live Twice,” “Diamonds Are Forever” and “Never Say Never Again.” LOOKING FOR PIERCE Where can I get a photo of Pierce Brosnan of “Remington Steele”? T.D., Henderson, Texas. Send your request to this dashing lad, who recently starred in his first feature film, “Nomads,” in care of MTM Enterprises, 4024 Radford Avenue, Studio City, CA 91604.
