Science fair top honors to Poynter An exhibit entitled “Solar Food and Grain Drying” by Charlie Poynter earned grand champion honors at the Greencastle High School Science Fair March 12. Poynter, whose exhibit also placed first in the Environmental Science Division, earned a plaque donated by Poor and Co. Obituary Raymond F. 'Si' Bussing
Raymond F. “Si” Bussing, 88, Route 17, Brazil, died Thursday afternoon at Clay County Hospital. Born Nov. 12, 1897 at Effingham, 111., he had resided in the Brazil area for 75 years. He was the son of Clements and Margaret (Utz) Bussing. Mr. Bussing attended school at Terre Haute and Annunciation Catholic School in Brazil. On June 16, 1924 he married Marjorie Candice Fisher. She preceded him in death in 1973. Mr. Bussing had worked for three former firms in the Brazil area: E.D. Wilder Lumber Co., Gregory Manufacturing Co. and Cunningham Building Co. He then was employed as a carpenter until his retirement in 1973. He was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Holy Name Society and the Car-

Tim Conway and Ollie Reynolds, members of the Greencastle Kiwanis Club, have been named co-chairmen for the Putnam County area for the 1966 fund campaign for the Children’s Miracle Network Telethon for the Riley Hospital for Children. Making the announcement was George Schenetzke, director of annual giving for the Riley Memorial Association. Conway and Reynolds will lead a team of volunteers who will solicit funds from the business community in advance of the telethon. All the money contributed in Put-

He also was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters. A brief prayer service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Lawson-Slack Funeral Home, Brazil, followed by the Mass of Resurrection at 11 a.m. at Annunciation Catholic Church wtih Rev. Anthony Spicuzza officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Cemetery. Friends may call 4-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Sunday.

During the 1984-85 year 65 young persons from the county were bed patients at Riley and many more were treated there as outpatients. The campaign kickoff has been scheduled for 4 p.m. April 10 and the wrapup date, also at 4 p.m., will be May 1. The funds collected here and elsewhere will be helping pay for the $65 million expansion at the hospital which is scheduled to be completed this fall.
