Williams for team scoring honors with 24 points. The Jazz came down, missed and the Pacers had the ball, Kellogg posted up on the right side against Utah’s Adrian Dantley, who was whistled for an off-the-ball foul. With 18 seconds left, Kellogg went to the foul line and sank two free throws that provided the winning points. “It was pretty much the same throughout the game,” Kellogg said of the foul. “I guess they thought it was time to let me get to the line.”

However, Utah Coach Frank Layden said he had a tough time understanding the call. Steve Stipanovich, who scored 14 points for the Pacers in the final quarter, pulled in the rebound, and Indiana celebrated its second straight road victory. Stipanovich had 22 points for the Pacers, who are 9-22 in the Central Division. Dantley was the top scorer with 34 points. Green contributed 21 points for Utah, now 15-18 in the Midwest Division, and Darrell Griffith scored 18.
