Morris is a 5-6 junior who scored two points a game while splitting time with the junior varsity last year. Schwomeyer is a 5-6 sophomore who surprised a lot of opponents with good perimeter shooting and netted 2.3 points while splitting time. Denny is the newcomer who has looked good in practice. She is a 5-8 sophomore who handles the ball well and could fit into the wing-forward, or three spot as the position is now called. “I’ll probably use a lot of combinations the first four or five games and find out what we’ve got,” Hammond admitted. It also fits into Cloverdale’s defensive scheme. “We played around with some man-to-man last year and we’re going to use it again this year because it puts us in good checkout position,” Hammond said. And expect Cloverdale to be aggressive on defense because Hammond has plenty of depth. “We should have a lot of depth. The main thing is what way it’s going to help us. I hope to juggle our offense wo we can use different combinations,” the coach said. OFFENSIVELY THE Clovers will “do anything to score,” according to Hammond. “We’ll take it (the fastbreak) when it’s there because we have the speed for it.” Cloverdale’s strength will be tested repeatedly this season with a stronger

schedule. Before the sectional the Clovers will face two of last year’s regional teams - - Terre Haute South and South Vermillion. Also Terre Haute North is on the schedule for the first time in addition to WCC contenders Greencastle, North Putnam and Tri-West. That is one thing Hammond is afraid of. How the Clovers react to not being in the WCC this season.
