My Special Policy has so many benefits, there’s no room lor me on this page.

You'll find lots of attractive features here. Except mine. I started out to give you a policy that would increase your coverage and probably save you a lot of money. I ended up with a policy that had so many benefits l was squeezed out of my own ad. What have I done? The Insurancenter's Special Policy Instead of one insurance policy for your car and another for your home, my Special Policy gives you more protection on both by insuring them together And it's already saved many people hundreds of dollars. Here's how it works: No more double standard With separate policies, you get separate (usually unequal) limits on home and auto liability. My Special Policy gives you one (usually higher) overall limit on both. No more quadruple standard A standard homeowners policy has separate limits for: (b your house (2) your belongings (3) adjacent structures, like your garage, and (4) additional living expenses. My Special Policy gives you one (1) generous limit that amply covers them all. You'll appreciate no depreciation Under a normal policy, you won't get what it costs you to replace your belongings if anything happens to the contents of your house. You only get the replacement cost minus depreciation. My Special Policy gives you the full replacement cost (subject to

the limits and exclusions of the policy). Period. And without any additional charge. I’m flexible about plastic Right now, you're probably covered for credit card loss and forgery for only up to $500.00. I'll cover you up to $1.000.00. My limits are less limiting Most policies have rather low limits on important things like your heirloom silverware or your great grandfather's headstone. The limits for such things in my Special Policy either are higher, or you're covered right up to the full limit of your policy. My auto policy is to get you moving The auto policy you have now most likely covers the cost of alternate transportation (like renting a car) only if your car was stolen, if you want coverage for any other kind of loss, you're probably paying a fair amount extra for it. With my Special Policy's physical damage coverage, we ll get you rolling again fast under just about any circumstances including a collision, without you paying any extra. No go! I tow. - Are you covered for towing and labor? You're probably paying extra for it. With physical damage coverage, my Special Policy takes care of both. No charge. I'll stick by you for five years After my Special Policy has been in effect for 60 days, and if you just pay your premiums, make sure no one in your family has their driver's license revoked.

Keeping dryer running can cost big dollars in long run

DEAR HELOISE: I’ve just had an experience I would like you and your readers to avoid. For years, I have sometimes left my dryer running, drying a load of clothes, while I went to shop, etc. Recently, I did this and the

continued to run, the damage amounted to almost S6O. I’ll never again leave a machine running when 1 am away. C.R. ★ * * You were lucky, at that! You should never leave any appliance, such as a washing machine, dryer or dishwasher, operating when you leave the house. While you may do this for years with nothing detrimental happening, you never know when something will cause a malfunction and an overflow, or as in the case of a dryer, a failure of the machine to stop, getting too hot, possibly causing a fire. The old cliche, “better to be safe than sorry" was never truer. Heloise CAMERA I.D. Dear Heloise: Put an address label on your camera. If you ever lose it, chances are better you’ll at least get your film back, if not the camera. Cameras can be replaced special pictures can’t. A Fan PROBLEM WITH PAPER Dear Heloise: I’m sure I read in your column “use white shelf paper for wrapping gifts.” (You did. H.) But, I haven’t found one store in the big city where I live that carries the old-fashioned roll of white shelf paper. It is all adhesive-backed. Seems every day, life gets a little more sticky! D.L.N. ★ * * While I had to chuckle at your observation (about life), I can appreciate your dilemma. I hope by now you have

New Device Helps Prevent Electric Shutoffs This Winter

In times like these, some people are having real difficulty paving their electric bill on time. The last thing Public Service Indiana wants to do is to shut off anyone s service. And that’s why the electric companv is using service limiters to help customers avoid disconnections this winter. Service limiters are new devices that restrict the flow of electricitv and permit only essential uses—lights, refrigerator, furnace blower. Public Service Indiana is installing them when a customer becomes substantiallv delinquent in paving an electric bill. The limiter is connected to the electric meter. If use exceeds the pre-set limit, all power goes off until the customer turns off some appliances and resets the limiter. This gives customers extra time to arrange payment and not be left in the cold. The limiter provides an added measure of compassion. And it’s fair, too, to the vast majority of customers who pay their bills on time.

All Public Service Indiana disconnection policies are designed to be as fair as possible. • We make no shutoffs during extended periods of freezing weather or on weekends, holidays or after noon on days when offices will not be open the following day. • We make no shutoff if partial payment is made and an agreement to pay the balance is reached. • No shutoff is made without prior authorization of a manager or supervisor. • Disconnection is delayed at least ten days if a customer presents a physician’s confirmation of illness. • Asa precaution against a shutoff, we will if requested arrange to notify' a relative or some other party should a bill become delinquent.

found a roll, ’cause this kind of paper does come in handy many times in a no-time-to-go-to-the-store gift wrap situation. Heloise CLOTHESPIN USE Dear Heloise: When banking at a drive-in window, I clip my checks, deposit slips and utility bills together with a spring-type clothes pin. It’s so easy to put it in the deposit slot and easier to retrieve the deposit receipt. Too, I don’t have to worry about the wind blowing a check away. Mrs. Bernice Custer BREAD DOUGH Dear Heloise: I had all the windows in the house open one brisk day recently and needed a warm place for bread dough to rise. (Couldn’t use the oven as I had cookies baking.) So, I turned on the clothes dryer to a warm setting for a minute or two, turned it off, then placed the bowl of dough inside. It rose beautifully. Marcy BUSHWHACKING Dear Heloise: What to do with those sticky, thorny rose bush branches when you trim them? First, lay a string on the ground long enough to tie up a bundle of trimmings. On top of the string, lay down newspapers at least two pages thick. After trimming the bushes, stack the clipping on top of the papers, roll them up, then tie with the string. Presto! You can carry the bundle by the string and it is ready to haul away with your trash. Louise Borger

MORE ON ROACH BALLS Dear Heloise: A suggestion about the placement of the boric acid roach balls... I’m going to use egg cartons with a piece cut out at each end so the roaches can crawl in, but pets can’t get to the bait. Tie the carton securely with a piece of string or place a rubber band around it. Place where needed. The carton is easy to discard when the balls are too dry. Evelyn Norman * * * Great idea my friend... thanks! Heloise GOOD TO KNOW Dear Heloise: You can substitute cocoa for chocolate in a recipe by using three and one-half tablespoons cocoa and one-half teaspoon butter for each square or ounce of chocolate. Just cream the butter and chocolate together, then use like regular chocolate. Mrs. R.F. Porath Dear Heloise: I find your column to be very informative and extremely helpful. I’d like to share a hint with you. I have to get around with a walker. When I do mygrocery shopping I find that I can maneuver the shopping cart easier and faster than my. walker. That’s what gave me the idea of using my utility • cart at home. It has wheels and is very easy to go around from room to room. It’s: especially great in the kiti ; chen. I can carry dishes and food to the table or anything - else I want to move about. I hope this can be of help to; someone else. I feel it really made my life much easier. V.A.
