TUESDAY AND THURSDAY CATTLE AUCTION INDIANAPOLIS STOCKYARDS The Indianapolis Stockyards will start the New Year with two days of auction selling. The new Tuesday sale day will be run just like the present Thursday auction, with slaughter cattle, cows, and bulls beginning at 8:30 a.m. and sheep at 12:00 noon followed by feeder cattle in the afternoon. Private treaty sales will continue Monday, Wednesday, and Friday on cattle and five days a week on hogs. Both methods are popular with cattlemen and assure top price and strong buyer competition at the state’s central market. WE HOPE TO SEE YOU SOON ON A PRIVATE TREATY DAY OR ON AN AUCTION DAY. Worry clinic
By George W. Crane, Ph.D.,M.D
If you have Alice’s problem, then use the suggestions below to combat insomnia and even make money meanwhile. Writers also lose many ideas for lack of a memo pad at CASE A-712: Alice D., age 29, is a busy housewife. “Dr. Crane,” she began, “often when I am about to drift off to sleep I think of some chore I should be sure to take care of next day. “And to be sure I don’t forget it, I lie awake extra minutes trying to prod my train into remembering that task. “As a result I sleep restlessly and don’t enjoy the deep, sound slumber I really need to awaken completely refreshed. “So what do you suggest I try as a means of stopping this semi-insomnia I suffer by jogging my brain repeatedly about tomorrow’s chore.” INSOMNIA STOPPERS Sometimes, too, we all waken from a dream that we wish to recall next day, but by morning we have forgotten it. Pharaoh of Egypt thus had two very vivid dreams that disturbed him greatly but next day he couldn’t recall anything in those dreams though he still was positive he had had double dreams. He brought all the dream interpreters into his court and demanded that they interpret his dreams. But they informed him they needed to have him narrate the dreams before they could ever hope to interpret them. Later, young Joseph, then in prison because of the false sex charges levelled against him by an Egyptian official's wife, was mentioned to Pharaoh as a dream interpreter.

Joseph not only told Pharaoh the content of his 2 dreams but said they both referred to a 7-year famine that was to follow 7 years of rich harvest. So Pharaoh thus made Joseph Prime Minister of Egypt. All of us can profit by hanging a note pad on the post at the head of our bed, and have a pencil attached thereto by some rubber bands. Then, even without turning on the light, we can reach out and scribble a few key words about a vital tomorrow chore, or note a striking dream that we wish to recall next day. By thus externalizing our ideas and tasks for the next day, we no longer sleep as lightly but can drift off into deeper, more refreshing slumber. The act of scribbling a few words on paper, even in the dark, will thus relax us often better than a sleeping pill! And sometimes those ideas really are very valuable, for often a forgotten name, telephone number or unpaid bill will pop into mind after our heads hit the pillow, so we benefit not only in more relaxed slumber but may make a dollar or more by the memo about the deadline for a small discount on paying our gas bill. Also, a little religious meditation prior to sleep, far exceeds the use of sleeping pills as insurance for sound slumber! And your heart gets most of its nightly rest even if you lie awake but stay in the horizontal plane on your mattress. ( Always write to Dr Crane, Hopkins Bldg., Mellott, Indiana 47951, enclosing a long stamped, addressed envelope and 25 c to cover typing and printing costs when you send for one of his booklets.)
