Worry Clinic
By George W. Crane, Ph D., M.D
Gretchen is woefully ignorant of male sexual psychology. Smart wives can hold their husbands, pven against the wiles of all outside sirens, by the strategy below. CASE Z-695: Gretchen F., age 27, is heading for divorce. "Dr. Crane," she protested, "I feel that Jerry is selfish and very unfair, for he wants boudoir cheesecake far more often than I do. • ‘So I refuse unless I am in the mood and then he grows angry and we may not speak the next day. ‘ • ‘As a result, I believe we £ire not sexually matched so shouldn’t we get a divorce? i “You have suggested that wives feign ardor when they aren’t in the mood, but that !is repugnant tome!" FEIGN ARDOR l When you are guests for (inner at your employer’s home, do you bluntly refuse his choice dishes? ; Or do you feign ardor to make him happy and thus further insure his paying not only your family’s present pay check but even boosting it? Well, if your husband has shown his love for you via a wedding ring and a legal ceremony, and if he is the main bread winner of your home, then why not feign ardor in the boudoir cheesecake function? Prostitutes and “CalT girls don’t feel “in the mood” for sex when they sell their services, but they realize their rent and food depend on feigning ardor. If we lived in the polygamous era of Biblical

The term “endplay” indicates a situation achieved by declarer in which a defender on lead cannot avoid a losing play whatever he returns. Strangely enough, the endplay need not occur at the end of a hand. Quite often it comes in the middle of the play period. Furthermore, there are cases where the endplay occurs on the opening lead! The endplay may come about by accident or by design. But mostly, declarer consciously creates the setting

Abraham, wives would soon learn to feign ardor to get their fair share of the head of the harem! Women are definitely not as easily stimulated by basic sexual hunger as are men, and that is likewise true in the gastric realm, too. For men are direct in their dinner table demands and don't like frills, such as lighted candles, scalloped edges of their grapefruit and other dinner table artistic touches. Women are diffident eaters who want to try the various new foods listed on the menu and enjoy flowers, candles, etc. That is a valuable sex difference, too, for much of the art, beauty, music and flowers would never be cultivated by mankind if it weren’t for these sex differences. Smart wives soon learn to feign ardor, at least 3 nights out of 4, for then their husbands remain devoted; their kiddies retain a loving father, and they have a regular pay check! The women who protest their equal sex hunger to that of men either have ascetic husbands, or are compensating for fear of inferiority, due to amputated breasts or wombs, or other physical defects, or else they are “on the make” to win a husband or cash customer or fur coats! Send for my booklet “Sex Differences Between Men & Women”, enclosing a long stamped, return envelope, plus 25 t. (Always write to Dr. Crane, Hopkins Bid?.. Mellon, Indiana 47M», encloslnp a long stamped, addressed envelope and 25 1 to cover typing and printing costs when you sand for one of his booklets.)
that gains him an otherwise doubtful trick. For a good example, take this case where South is in danger of losing two spade tricks as well as two diamond tricks. If he is a reasonably good declarer, he recognizes that possibility as soon as dummy appears. He then takes steps to overcome a conceivably poor lie of the cards. He wins the club lead with the ace and continues with a club to dummy’s king. He then ruffs a club with the nine, completing the removal of dummy’s clubs as well as his own. Next comes the elimination of the adverse trumps. He accomplishes this by cashing the A-K of trumps. Declarer is then in a position to assure the contract regardless of how the defenders’ cards are divided. He leads a low diamond from dummy and finesses the nine after East follows low. West wins with the ten, but finds himself endplayed. If he returns a diamond, it goes into South’s A-Q. If he returns a spade, he makes South’s king a trick. And finally, if West returns a club it allows declarer to ruff in dummy and discard a spade loser from his hand. The three-suit endplay is successful whatever West does, and declarer is sure to make the contract.
