Dear Abby Concerned father takes a look at criminal system and doesn't like what he sees

DEAR ARRY: I am the father of a fine 12-year-old boy who has a paper route. He’s an honor student and is saving his money for college. I haven’t been sleeping very well since Renjamin Lee Rreneman, the good-looking 12-year-old newspaper carrier in California, was murdered by a sex deviate not long ago. Abby, that child was killed by a known child molester who had been paroled four times for sex crimes involving little boys He is obviously a degenerate, a pervert and a very sick man. Rut he is also a criminal, and should never have been paroled with a record like his. I think it’s fair to say that rehabilitation in his case was impossible. So why wasn’t he locked up to protect innocent children? Why was he paroled for the fourth time to be sent out to prey on young children? Where in God’s name is the justification for paroling this man? Something is drastically wrong with our criminal system. Please print this. Maybe someone has an answer. I haven’t. TOMMY’S FATHER IN CLEVELAND DEAR FATHER: I have no answer either. But when the accused comes to trial, I think the members of the parole board who set him free to murder this child should be in the dock with the murderer, and they should get the same penalty as the murderer. * * * DEAR ARRY: My brother-in-law and 1 have a disagreement. Mv father was born in Italy, which makes him

Heloise Chip can good for toting baby food

DEAR HELOISE: Being rather new to motherhood, I have learned many things the hard way, the major lesson being to be prepared for everything when going somewhere. So, wlien I’m not sure how long an errand or a visit to a friend is going to take, I carry along an extra bottle of formula and jars of baby food. One of the handiest containers I have found to store these necessities in is a tubular potato chip can. Three small jars of baby food fit perfectly into one can and there’s also room to slip in a spoon. I keep one of the cans packed with three jars of food at all times. Easy to just grab and place in the diaper bag. A bottle of milk will stay cooler longer inside one of these cans too as it provides some insulation. A real plus in warmer weather. If desired, you could decorate your cans with pretty adhesive-backed plastic... just

for looks. Peggy Tubbs SPACESAVER Dear Heloise: Having a lot of coffee and hot chocolate drinkers at our house, it seemed I was always using too much cupboard space for cups, even though they were on hooks. So, my husband put a row of cup hooks under the cupboard along the wall where I can now hang a dozen cups of all different colors for folks to choose from. They’re easier to get at. Mary Quigley HINTS FROM HIM Dear Heloise: Empty powdered drink mix cans with plastic lids, make ideal storage containers for a workshop. Sort nails, screws, etc., and tape one of each kind to the outside of the can. Store them on a narrow shelf that doesn’t take up much room. Use an empty shortening can for similiar things which need to be kept in larger quantities. Gerald Zeringue.

Italian. My mother was American born, with no Italian blood in her, so that makes me half-Italian and halfAmerican, right? My husband and I were both born in America. His ancestors were French, English and I’m not sure what else, but no Italians. The question is, what percentage Italian are my children? I say they are one-quarter, my brother-in-law says they are one-eighth. Who is right? If my brother-in-law is right, please explain to me how my children can be one-eighth Italian, when I am one-half. I know in math one-half reduces next to one-fourth. Sign me . . . RORN IN ILLINOIS DEAR BORN: Technically, your children are 100 percent American, having been born in the U.S.A. But the percentage of “Italian blood” in the veins of your children is one-quarter! * * * DEAR ARBY: I am a Korean born girl who will be an American citizen this September. I am in love with a Korean-born young man whom I have known since I was 15 in Korea. We are planning to marry, but my father is against it on the grounds that according to Korean law a person cannot marry anyone who has the same last name. That is our problem. Dear Abbv. We have the same last

I refer to guests who, after sleeping in the guest room, very carefully make up the bed spread and all. i have to tear it apart in order to change the linen anyway. ' Also, some guests will use towels, then fold them so neatly I can’t tell which towels have been used and which haven’t, I wish they’d leave the used towels rumpled so I will know they’re soiled. Also, some people’s idea of “washing” dishes is to run hot water over them. I’d prefer to have dirty dishes left in the sink for me to wash my way. Rush this into your column, Abby. I’m expecting some more “helpful” houseguests on the weekend. Thanks. HIGHLAND PARK HOSTESS
