Cloverdale news Resident released from hospital
CLOVERDALE-Cloverdale Past Matrons met Tuesday, Oct. 13 at the home of Mrs. Mary Abrell, Mrs. Ruth Neier was her co-hostess. Following the business meeting, Ruth conducted two contests which were won by Mrs. Mabel Herbert and Mrs. Laßue Gray. “Thot: Patience means awaiting God’s help without doubting God’s love.” Our Daily Bread. A SPEEDY recovery is wished for Jeff Tharp, four-year-old grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Tharp. Jeff was recently released from the hospital. Mrs. Whaley was recently released from the Bloomington Hospital.

Calendar of events Wednesday The Genealogy Club will meet at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28 at the Greencastle Putnam County Library. Hubert Clodfelter will be the speaker. The 20th Century Club will meet on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at the home of Mrs. Hugh Henry. The hostess will present the program. The Putnam County Singles will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28 at the Greencastle football field to attend a game between Greencastle and South Putnam. After the game, the club will go to the home of Andrea McConahay for donuts and hot chocolate. Chapter I, PEO will meet Wednesday, Oct. 28 at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Howard Burkett, 700 Shadowlawn. Mrs. Donald Hess will be the assistant hostess. The Putnam County Historical Society will meet Wednesday, Oct. 28 at 6:30 p.m. at the Double Decker Restaurant. Harry H. Howell from Plainfield will be the guest speaker and his subject is “Horse Cars, Interurbans and Fond Memories.” Reservations should be made with Mrs. William J. Boatright by Tuesday. Parents Anonymous, a self-help group of parents under stress, will meet 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28 at the Charterhouse library of Gobin United Methodist Church. Tots Time coordinator Chick Washburne says parents who need a break from child care and have no access to a sitter are welcome to bring their pre-school children (including infants) to the free child care center on Wednesdays, 9 a.m. to noon at First Baptist Church, Judson Drive, Greencastle. On Oct. 28, those who live in Greencastle and the Reelsville areas will be picked up early enough to reach Tots Time by 9 a.m. Parents will be driven anywhere in Greencastle, returned for children by noon and driven back home. Russellville Law seminar sponsored
RUSSELLVILLE-A group of law officials met at the town hall in Russellville on Monday, Oct. 19 to answer questions about how the law works. Specifically, the group answered questions on criminal sentencing, plea bargaining and drug abuse. THE HALLOWEEN social, supper and masquerade was held on Saturday, Oct. 24 in the Russellville Elementary School. A miscellaneous shower was held Wednesday, Oct. 21 in honor of Jim Jarvis and Sandra Reath in the White Church in Russellville. AD K week celebrated Alpha Delta Kappa week focusing on altruistic activities was celebrated last week by the Pi Chapter of Greencastle, Putnam and Owen counties. Nursing home and hospital visits, donations of books and magazines to nursing homes and hospitals and luncheons highlighted the celebration. A trip to the Putnamville United Church and a dinner at Gasthauf-Stephan Restaurant in Terre Haute in recognition of Founders Day concluded the week’s activities.
A birthday dinner was held on Oct. 17 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Ferguson honoring the birthdays of Steve and Jason Ferguson. MR. AND MRS. DOUG Perry left Sunday evening, Oct. 25 from Indianapolis for their home in Hawaii after a visit with his parents Mr. and Mrs. James Perry, Russellville, and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Woody Ferguson spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Brant of Shelbyville. On Saturday afternoon, Oct. 24, they attended the Brant’s son wedding. Mrs. Nettie McGaughey, Russellville, recently returned home after a few weeks visit with her daughter Mrs. Clarabelle Moore and family in Ohio.

Patricia Lee Bock, Route 1, Cloverdale, and Gregory Lee Coffman, Greencastle, were married in the amphitheatre at Brown County State Park on Saturday, Sept. 19 with Jerry Pittman as the officiating pastor. THE BRIDE IS the daughter of Sandra Lee Bock, Route 1, Fillmore and Martin Lee Bock, Indianapolis. The groom is the son of Audrey Lee Coffman, Greencastle and W. Rex Coffman. Route 1, Fillmore. The double-ring ceremony featured guitarist Jack Bessire playing “Time in a Bottle” and “I’ve Got A Dream.” The bride was attired in a sheet white gauze dress with lace and carried a bouquet of white daisies, blue carnations, and baby’s breath. Her maid of honor, Rebecca Susan Frost, Greencastle, wore a powder blue sundress and white carnation corsage. A gray three-piece suit was worn by the groom. His best man was Edward G. Klebusch, Greencastie, who is stationed in North Carolina with the 82nd Army Airborne Division. The best man was attired in his Army dress uniform. A RECEPTION WAS neid at the home of Blanche 11 avJT, Nashville, who is the bride’s great-grandmother. The bride, who was graduated from South Putnam High School and John Robert Powers Modeling School, and the groom, who was graduated from Greencastle High School and is employed at Big E Warehouse Foods, will reside at 725M> E. Washington St., Greencastle. They honeymooned at Brown County State Park.
