Legal Notices ORDINANCE NO. 1981-10 AN ORDINANCE TO TEMPORARILY SUSPEND ANY ORDINANCES PERTAINING TO LEAF BURNING OR LEAF PICK-UP BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Greencastle. Indiana, that this temporary leaf burning ordinance shall be in effect by order of the Mayor and only during the time specified by the Mayor and after due notice has been given to the public by newspaper and radio announcements at least 24 hours before going into effect. 1. All burning shall be done during daylight hours between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. 2. All burning of dry leaves must be supervised by an adult person (16 years of age or older) and the supervision must be sustained until the fire is completely out. ' 3. No burning shall be done closer to any building than twenty (20) feet or within fifty (50) feet of any stored flammable material. '4. No burning shall be done which is within two (2) feet of a surfaced street or in any manner which shall cause any damage to any surfaced street or alley which is a dedicated public right-of-way. 5. No burning shall be done on windy days. 6. All bagged leaves will be picked up by the City Street Department. 7. No leaves shall be raked into the streets that can cause clogging of storm sewers. 8. Violation of this ordinance shall be subject to a tine of Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00) plus an assessment for any damage to any city properly or street. Private property shall be settled for between the violator and the complainant. PASSED and ADOPTED by the Common Council of the City of Greencastle, Indiana, this 13th day of October, 1981.
