Kiddie Korner holds off Banner-Graphic Kiddie Korner won its first game of the season Wednesday night, defeating an improved Banner-Graphic squad 9-4 in Greencastle Women’s Softball League play. The Banner-Graphic took its first lead of the year in the bottom of the first at 1-0. But Kiddie Korner came back in the second inning with four runs and never trailed again. Kathy Pingleton led the Kiddie Korner attack with three singles, while Lucille Coats, Sue Benassi and Deann Smith had two singles each. Susan Frazier had a single and double to her credit. Brenda Mcßride and losing pitcher Sue Duncan led the Banner-Graphic attack with two hits each. Mcßride had a single and double and Duncan a pair of singles. Sherri Knapp had the B-G’s first triple of the season and Bonnie Burgess and Maria Girton each contributed singles. The game had only four errors, one by Kiddie Korner and three committed by the Banner-Graphic. McDonald's and Torr's win softball games McDonald’s is back in first place in the Senior Division and Torr's held on to second place in the Junior Division of the Greencastle Girls Softball Association. McDonald's scored 10 first inning runs Wednesday night and went on to defeat Hutcheson and Son of Reelsville 15-5 in a five-inning ball game. Torr's rallied late in the Junior Division game with six runs to defeat Sherm's Realty 13-12. Sherm's led most of the contest. but Torr’s won the game with its late rally.
