Girl Scouts participate in church service
RUSSELLVILLE-Mrs. Lucille Jarvis was taken to Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville after suffering a heart attack in her home the first of the week. She is the mother of Joe Jarvis and Mrs. Virginia Harbison both of Russellville. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Wilson were Wednesday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Riddle in Indianapolis. The Russellville Town Board met Monday night at the fire house for their monthly meeting. Dewey Goff was taken back to Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville Saturday. Mrs. Gladys Mountcastle of rural Greencastle visited with Mr. and Mrs. Dee Flock Tuesday and was a supper guest of her brother Bob Nicholson and wife Betty. Mrs. Florence Compton, Mrs. Bea Hazlett and Mrs. Vi Wilson all had breakfast at the Bellmore Case Thursdaymorning. The Girl Socuts took part in the morning services at the Christian Church Sunday morning. Mr. and Mrs. .Donald Hazlett called on Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Switzer in Rockville Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Lucetta Klein called on her brother Bruce Williams and wife in Waveland Sunday afternoon. Mr. Williams remains poorly.

Those present to enjoy the familydinner and special occasion were Mrs. Ival McGaughey, Mr. and Mrs. Issiac Wiatt and son Darrell, Mrs. Hazel Sutherlin, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Wiatt and family and the hostess, all of Russellville, and Miss Ellen Job of Greencastle. A large tree had fallen in the front yard of Mrs. Harbison’s, so after the tree was cleaned up they used the remains to enjoy a hot dog on a cold March day. Gary I,ane, son of Mrs. Ruth I,ane who has been a patient in a Lafayette hospital due to a fractured arm, returned home this week and is slowly improving. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Hazlett were Saturday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dee Flock. Many from here attended the regional at Frankfort Saturday afternoon where the North Putnam Cougars met the Lebanon Tigers. Much to our regret, they lost. Much congratulations go out to the Cougars for going this far and for such a good winning season. Miss Suzanne McGaughey, a senior at North Putnam High School and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Morris McGaughey of Russellville, has been named winner of the North Putnam DAR award and has also won the Putnam Co. Good Citizen award. They also visited friends Mrs. Frank Chestnut, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hays and family and Mrs. Hazlett’s brother, Joe Williams, all of Oden. The Ladies of the United Church served a steak dinner Monday evening to the Past Matrons of O.E.S. at the church. Correction The name of the maid of honor in the Shaner-Naylor wedding account .published recently in the Banner-Graphic was ommitted. The honor attendant was Jean Naylor, twin sister of the bride.
