Life - Continued from page 1 Operation Life Board member Doug Crichlow, who prepared the proposal, pointed out that many communities in Indiana including some heavily populated areas, use volunteers because many times volunteers are as capable as paid people and all funds can be spent on better equipment and supplies..and still show a reduction in operating costs. Operation Life hopes to be able to locate existing organizations, specifically volunteer fire departments, to participate in the program. Hill pointed out that reaction from the fire departments at both ends of the county has been initially favorable. Some fire departments may wish to recruit some new members who are just interested in being Emergency Medical Technicians to augment their forces to operate ambulances. The Board of Directors of Operation Life is asking for public reaction to the proposal. County residents should contact one of the Operation Life board members or call the office at 653-3600 for details about the proposal. The Operation Life proposal for emergency ambulance service comes after a year long study of county needs and alternatives. The study of county emergency demands, response patterns, available providers, physical barrier effects and other considerations resulted in the plan submitted to county government. Operation Life also has toured some 60 emergency ambulance organizations all over the nation in preparation of this proposal, they said.

He has been cited for “the excellence of his compositions, the widespread acceptance of his works among performing groups, and musical kudos which have been presented to him during the year.”
