Mrs. Robert Allen and Penny Allen boarded a plane for Nassau on Monday with other Admiral dealers of Indiana for an all expense paid trip for a week. Mrs. Merle Butler has returned home after spending the past three weeks with her daughter, Mrs. Pat Bright and family in New Jersey.

First Baptist Church setting' for Smith-Lyon wedding ceremony

The wedding of Lucinda Sue Lyon and Donny Smith took place on Dec. 20 at the First Baptist Church in Greencastle with the Rev. Frank Smith officiating. Washburn Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, held its January meeting with Mrs. Perry Michael. Regent Brann called the meeting to order, followed by the Pledge to the Flag, singing the National Anthem, and the American’s Creed. Defense Chairman, reported on the Naval Academy, quoting Gen. Hyman Rickover’s message to the House Military Appropriations Committee. He said the Academy needs more technical courses and fewer courses in theory and management, and that graduates are not qualified or prepared to run today’s nuclear powered Navy.
