On Sunday Mr. Oty and family attended the graduation excercises of her grandson Darold Oty at South Putnam. The Stitch and Chatter Club met Wednesday afternoon with Miss Kate Oliver. Twelve members answered roll call with “a fruit or vegetable Bible times.” Neva Hunter gave a' contest which was won by Mildred Hunter. Hostess served refreshemtsn. Mrs. Mildred Lydick entered the Putnam County Hospital for surgery on Thursday.

margarine 1 pint milk 8-ounce can whole-kernel corn, undrained Soak beans in water to cover overnight; drain and rinse. Add 6 cups water to the beans and simmer, covered, just until tender but not mushy. Add the remaining ingredients and heat. Nice sprinkled with minced parsley or freshly grated pepper. Makes 6 to 8 servings.

An enterprising group from Cloverdale is now taking names for rides, and the means of transportation is a deluxe passenger bus. This ingenious idea also conserves on fuel. At the recent Joint Inspection of Greencastle, Fillmore, and Cloverdale Chapters of Order of The Eastern Star, held in the Greencastle Masonic lA)dge, Greencastle Mrs. Esther Fry, Secretary of Cloverdale Chapter 369 was presented her 50 year award pin from Past Worthy Grand Matron of Indiana, Helen Gore.
